Background

I'm a Staff ML Scientist at Zendesk, where I lead an ML Science team working on RAG and agentic use cases. I live in sunny Portugal with my family.

Before that I was a postdoc at Cardiff University, researching how language models keep up with a changing world on social media (TimeLMs, TweetNLP), after a PhD in NLP at the University of Porto on extracting word sense representations from neural language models (LMMS).

Earlier, I founded PepFeed, a VC‑backed content recommendation startup for e‑commerce, leading a team of seven through to acquisition.
